Sri Pataladhri Narasimhar Temple, also known as Singaperumal Koil, is a historic and sacred temple located near Chennai. It is dedicated to Lord Narasimha, the fierce incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and is uniquely carved into a red sandstone hill, giving the temple a striking appearance and the name "Pataladhri" which means "red hill." The deity here is seen in a calm, seated posture, believed to protect devotees from fear and evil. Rich in legend and spiritual significance, the temple is a peaceful retreat for worshippers and a fine example of ancient rock-cut architecture. It remains a popular pilgrimage spot, especially during festivals like Narasimha Jayanthi.
