Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) operates a world-class manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG from Germany. Established in 2012, the plant spans around 400 acres and produces a range of commercial vehicles under the BharatBenz, Mercedes-Benz, and FUSO brands. It’s a fully integrated setup with its own paint shop, assembly line, R&D center, and even a 6 km test track designed to simulate tough Indian road conditions. The facility serves both domestic and international markets, exporting to over 50 countries. Known for its focus on sustainability, DICV uses 100% recycled water and solar power, with plans to achieve carbon-free operations by 2025. This plant is not only a manufacturing powerhouse but also a major contributor to local employment and skill development in the region.
